  • Please Do A Piece on Michael Jackson Hi, I’m writing to you because Last Week Tonight as opposed to other such shows actually cares about issues rather than chasing the headlines. It has been 11 years since Michael Jackson passed away yet to this day what the common consensus is that he is a taboo subject for many. I recall you guys once did a piece on Public Shaming. Michael Jackson was a genius, an abused child. He was strange. He was one of the few major stars from the 80s who came out of the 80s without a heroine addiction. He in his own way did many, Many strange things, but so do most other superstars. And more than others he actually cared. About children, about the earth. About the issues we are discussing to this day. While Icons like Freddy Mercury, Elvis Pressley, Prince, Beetles and many more are known for their good works, Michael is known for the something which he has repeatedly been acquitted for. It’s the truth that anyone looking for will find instantly but due to the “where there is smoke there is a fire” narrative, even 11 years after his death, the new media treats him like a criminal. All his trial pages are open for the public to read. He WAS weird. Making a ranch called neverland, hanging out with children. Trusting people he shouldn’t. But I urge you please cover him, hear beyond the noise like you guys often do. The most successful African American Artist of all time was a humble man child, who respected women, loved children and cared about our environment. He was not a heroine junkie, a private man who did not share his disease even all the way back in 1993 even though he was accused of wanting to become a “White Man”. He was eccentric. Hanging out with animals and caring about them. This article covers multiple sources, some of which I had read previously. Michael Jackson was a multi talented millionaire pop star, who was not an alcoholic, was a caring father, a filial son, Treated women with respect, cared about the planet and it’s beings. The press that constantly kept DASHING him, had found a way to subvert their guilt. All those years of calling him a “Jacko”, “monkey” and many more hurtful things was justified if he was a paedophile. They NEEDED him to be guilty. Such a man cannot exist in Hollywood. Such public shaming had allowed and to this day allows Michael to be a victim to all this slander. Please do a piece, if not one that exonerates him then one that once and for all cements the fact the Michael Jackson, the greatest pop star, the first African American Idol was a paedophile. Not through unknown sources or flimsy headlines but through concrete proof. A news echoing in a closed chamber will not reach anyone, most fans who what to know the truth know it, other people will read the headlines but not the explanations. It’s about time the general public knows. Please do a piece on Michael, the blatant mistreatment by the media, The systematic racism he faced during his trials. Please don’t let the first African American Singer be remembered for the things he did not do, He was weird, weird enough to annoy Freddy Mercury with Bubbles feedbacks, weird enough to let kids crack raw eggs over Michael Jackson, Weird enough to play water balloons with children. But he was not a paedophile and the world needs to acknowledge that. He was in no way a “Perfect Human” but he tried his best to live right and we should not punish him for doing that. On this year please exonerate this Black man, the Justice System has done it two decades ago, it’s about time everyone else does. Please do a piece on Michael Jackson. #spreadtheawareness #justiceformichael #hedeservedbetter

  • But we're not all I. This together. Chances are that you might know someone that died due to lack of medical assistance or supplies, maybe someone who was forced to continue a low pay work on frontlines serving shitty burgers at a fast food restaurants, while we have thousands of millionaires partying over the world with medical rooms fully stocked and staffed on their private jets. People died from being denied access to those supplies. People died because someone wasn't able to afford to use proper PPE while business hoarded supplies to hike up the price. We're not in this together, private property is clearly against public interest!

  • Here's a fact from a personal experience. No hearsay, no heard it from a friend, I saw this downhill spiral in person. Tigger warning, this involves drug use, and abuse. If you're sensitive to this type of thing, I'm giving you fair warning now. My adopted sister's bio father was in jail, she was my best friend, and we originally had only a power of attorney because it was thr assumption she would return to her dad once his jail time was over. Now, her dad was by no means a good man. He abused all his ex's, mentally and psychologically abused my sister, and was a heavy drug user. For once he didn't actually commit the crime, he was framed, I won't go into it because thats a whole different story, but his sentence was lowered, and he spent the rest of it at a halfway house. We would visit him, play games, take pictures, and for once, he looked amazing. He had muscle, his face was filled out, his hair wasn't gray, and had grown back. He looked better. He had a great plan for what he was going to do when he got out, and it all was promising, until it wasn't. No place would hire him, no apartment would lease him, he couldn't drive, didn't have money, and had no where to go. So he did the only thing he could do, go back to the people who were a bad influence on him. He spiraled fast, drugs, got back with an ex, stealing, and ended up right back in prison. For a lot longer, and an offense that was 100% his fault. Again, a whole different can of worms to open with that story. It was tragic, and it made me see how we treat past criminals in a whole new way. He wasn't a good person, by any stretch, but to see him try to be only for him to be set up for failure. It broke my heart, and it broke my sisters heart because she was his biggest advocate, always had been, no matter how many times he broke her heart. That was the last straw for her honestly. These videos always hit me harder because I've seen first hand how that system works, and how it treats criminals. You can go on, and on saying "if they didn't commit the crime", but most the time. The system sets them up for complete failure.

These are human fucking beings, not numbers, not cash cows. I’ve been having a hard time trying to find out how to donate books to local jails - now I see why! Even so, solitary would be even a hair’s width easier to deal with if you had a distraction like that.

  • Same deal in homeless shelters. Every soap dispenser dry as a bone, you get literally one drop of detergent for laundry a week. Only funding that shelters get are for food. You could be in a violent filthy unregulated shelter, but eating delicious/healthy hot breakfasts & dinners, + for lunch Trader Joe's drops off snacks and their 10 dollar pre made salads on their "export date" (they were fresh and quality) Look out for homeless shelter advocates and directors who are extremely obese women. All they do jobwise is secure more food donations or volunteer chefs. They eat like absolute kings alongside the homeless, who can't wash or clean or avoid catching sh It like MERSA. Fat homeless shelter directors refuse to make any quality changes not related to eating. It's impossible to starve in America if you don't have dignity or pride to protect. But "feed the homeless really wel in perpetuity" persists over "rehab and rehome the homeless". Homeless are just a bargaining chip for fat people 'advocating' for there to always be really high quality, and get praised endlessly for doing so. Always taking a plate of the typically expensive meals every day they "work" at an otherwise filthy and irreputable shelter

Not just non violent criminals any inmate that can be rehabilitated will be. It costs too much to lock these people up and it’s not efficient.

One of showes I like the perge. Give me a hunting licence And I and others will thin out the heard . U say I discuss u but u are hurting the world bringing down iq and promoting a lazy anti work ethick. What u can't under stand is u work pay bills work harder and get ahead . U may fall on your face a few times u pick your self up and go back to work. There is no free lunch unless it is someone else's and that is wrong . • I would bet trump (and others with money, power and connections within Russia and/or China) is taking Arbidol, a reportedly highly effective antiviral medication (which reportedly has minimal, if any, side effects.) This medication is widely available and very inexpensive in Russia as an OTC. If trump is taking Arbitol, it would explain his not wearing a mask and his apparent lack of concern that he (the ONLY person he truly cares about) could potentially be exposed to or get COVID-19. Arbidol (being used in Russia and China for prevention and initial treatment of Covid-19, as well as other viruses) could also explain why those two countries have had a significantly lower death rate during this pandemic. If what I have read about Arbidol in various medical reports is correct, this would indicate, among other things, that the Russian and Chinese governments care more about the health and well-being of their citizens than the USA does (and that we have been 'brainwashed' into believing the exact opposite.) • I just recently found out about John Oliver's segments and started binge watching them. Prior to this I have liked and favorited every episode. Unlike some people I will not dislike it, but at the same time I can not give it a like simply because, while your heart is in the right place and I agree almost entirely with a lot of your words, I feel that you simply failed to look into what the end results of your suggestion would truly be. There are some pretty big issues that you either never thought about or even worse deliberately avoided bringing up since they wreck your case. My biggest issues with this segment are two fold. First, is the issue of nastier or vengeful inmates who will go out of their way to try to deliberately infect people if released and with no prior procedure for detecting which person falls into such a category besides the obvious inmates who are in prison precisely because they deliberately infected people with aids or similar deadly diseases. How exactly would we go about proving that petty thief A is mentally planning to infect people while convicted killer A actually is safe to release and only plans on hunkering down until it is all clear? And how exactly would you go about proving that these outbound persons will not carry the virus with them out of the correctional system and into the country outside? If we dedicate a greater percentage of the testing then that means that other areas of vital testing are being short changed as a result. And how exactly do you keep these potential outbound individuals quarantined from the rest of the population and even each other while wait for the results to return? But this risk while real is probably a small percentage issue and so it pales to my second issue. Second, is the issue of the fact that what you are suggesting is a serious breach of quarantine in a situation where you already know the virus exists. Yes, we have established that the quarantine has already partially failed due to workers, and the release of jail confined people. But you yourself mentioned that this is bad, and yet you are advocating more of that. Where exactly would these prisoners go if they were released? For prisoners with family they would be released to them, and thereby potentially infecting the very people they would least want to infect. For everyone else where would they go? Likely to the cheapest housing facilities, where I promise you with a 100% guarantee you would then see an instant spike of covid outbreaks through the populations of inner city housing areas. You mention in your reports that the victims of this outbreak have a higher than average count when it comes to certain minorities and I am sadly not at all surprised to hear that even though it is yet another tragic example of how badly our society is set apart. But guess what, that percentage of minorities infected would only go up if the prisons all did what you are advocating here and for the very reasons I just pointed out. I am not saying that these prisoners deserve to die in a cruel and inhumane way for any crime, not even the small percentage of inmates who are in prison for deliberately infecting people with aids should be faced with this situation since they should have been in our care and safe from this nightmare scenario. Frankly this entire situation is absolutely horrible, and you are absolutely right that leaving them in a situation where they are highly likely to contract the virus is a tragedy that should never have been allowed to happen in the first place. What I am saying however is that the things you are advocating sounds great but have not been properly thought through. You are potentially committing a worse tragedy just to try to combat a tragedy that others have already created. By all means blame Trump and the rest of the system for allowing things to get to this point in the first place. But in an epidemic outbreak society needs to understand that sometimes tough decisions need to be made. Just like the overwhelmed hospital staff need to decide who to treat when their resources are not there, and I really hate what I am about to say and it is killing something inside me that I even say it, so too do we as a society need to decide whether the risk of releasing potentially infectious people into the greater population is better than simply leaving people locked up where at least the contagion is finite. And yes I realize that saying this is dooming people to die when they could have been saved. But we are seriously in a no win situation at this point and I would rather have the knowledge that I doomed a prison population to extinction, (although I truly hope they are able to still somehow contain the outbreaks internally) than that I doomed entire cities in the multiple by letting them out. When it comes down to it better to damn your soul leaving a few hundred thousand to die in one relatively closed system than to release that population and watch as it splinters to dozens of different locations and infects all of them instead and as a result killing millions more. The correctional institution should have done far more and far faster to prevent such a situation in the first place. But once they were known to be heavily infected it was too late. At that point it would be safer for the country as a whole to just write off everyone in those facilities rather than trying to save the remaining population and dooming everyone else. In the worst case scenario you will know a maximum number of people who will die from that part of the outbreak, and maybe we will even get lucky and somehow by a miracle the safety procedures will stop the spread that they already failed to avoid in the first place. Do I feel like a monster for even saying this? Yes, yes I do. No one will point their hatred at my words more than I do right now. But I feel like when it comes to a colony's survival that deliberately taking in known risk of infectious cases is dooming that colony. And make no mistake, at this point we are talking colony survival when it comes to our country as a whole. When this is all over and we have the ability to take liability into account then by all means those who are responsible for this situation in the first place should be taken to task for causing such situations in the first place. Why was there not a better quarantine of the prison systems in the first place? Why were the workers not put under harsher scrutiny for health during a known outbreak? Why did they continue to transfer prisoners between facilities after an outbreak was known to be occurring? Why were there not new temporary facilities made to handle new prisoners rather than sticking potentially healthy individuals in with potentially infected ones and vice versa?

  • What is truly shocking is that all those prisoners were wearing masks. Yet most right wing dumbfucks can't manage to do the same. >_> Translation: Prisoners are being more socially responsible to their fellow human beings right now than right wingers are.

  • About 5 years ago I decided watching tv was the most futile intellectual exercise I could do and I removed every service related to it. Last week tonight is one of those very few things I still watch (when it is made public in youtube). It is amazing journalism with a façade of comedy which gets to people (or at least I hope people really understands what John is saying). My brother was incarcerated a while back because a thief took his wallet and a few days later dropped the empty wallet (with his photo ID) in a bank robbery. The police came by and said they found his fingerprints at the bank (on his wallet) and sent him to jail awaiting review of the case. He was later on released and a retraction was put on his file but I can imagine this happening all throughout the States and thinking all of these men/women sent to these facilities. Most of this people wont have a stable source of income for the rest of their lives and now they might be physically debilitated as covid can leave you with long lasting effects. Is this the world we want?

  • jesus christ, from the stories i’ve heard people in even the “”nicer”” prisons are already losing body parts due to diabetes (as well as developing it in there), i cannot imagine what a spit in the face of a death sentence something like this must feel like

  • You know, most real criminals are the ones with the keys to the prison. This whole thing is bloody unconscionable!
